Limits on Elements So Material Qualifies as Class
C Waste*
From: Piet et al., Initial Integration of Accident Safety, Waste Management,
Recycling, Effluent, and Maintenance Considerations for Low-Activation
Materials, Fusion Technology, Vol. 19, Jan. 1991, pp. 146-161.
* Assumes 5 MW/m2 for 4 years
Note: These tables are for GENERIC cases and only valid for the fluxes
and times of operation used in producing these tables. This table uses "Fetter"
limits only (i.e., is not valid for 10CFR61 limits). Many of the nuclides
dominating the WDR and dose are sensitive to the hardness of the flux and
length of irradiation.
