FUSION IN THE TOP TEN

The European science journal, "Physics World" has rated fusion energy third among the world's "ten great unsolved problems in physics," behind quantum gravity, and understanding the nucleus, based on a poll of European scientists. The other seven, in order, were climate change, turbulence, glassy materials, high-temperature superconductivity, solar magnetism, complexity, and consciousness. The magazine also ranked the "top ten physicists in history" as Albert Einstein, Isaac Newton, James Clerk Maxwell, Niels Bohr, Werner Heisenberg, Galileo Galilei, Richard Feynman, Paul Dirac, Erwin Schrodinger and Ernest Rutherford.
