ARPA-E Announces Funding for 14 More Fusion Projects

The U.S. Department of Energy's ARPA-E has announced $29 million in
funding for 14 new fusion projects. The new effort, called GAMOW, is
aimed at closing "multiple fusion-specific technological gaps that will
be needed to connect a net-energy-gain fusion core, once it is ready, to
a deployable, commercially attractive fusion system." GAMOW is jointly
sponsored by ARPA-E and the DOE Fusion Energy Science program.
