PPPL to Host Symposium Honoring Rob Goldston March 19-20

The Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) will host a two day symposium to honor Prof. Rob Goldston’s almost 50 year career at the PPPL and Princeton University. Details of the Symposium, including registration, hotel and the talk schedule, are available on the Symposium Web Site.

The announcement is below:

We are pleased to announce a Symposium to honor Prof. Rob Goldston: “UNDERSTANDING FUSION PLASMAS, NUCLEAR ENERGY AND NUCLEAR ARMS CONTROL”, which will be held at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory Princeton University starting on Thurs March 19 and ending at noon Friday, March 20. The Symposium will provide a unique survey of plasma physics problems important for fusion, nuclear fission and arms non-proliferation and control in honor of the scientific contributions of Professor Robert Goldston, who, in his 48+ year career, has made significant innovative contributions and is a leader in these and other areas. The Symposium will feature talks from colleagues who have worked closely with Rob through the decades on these various topics, and will include a banquet on Thursday night, March 19.

The registration fees for the Symposium will be $25 ($15 for students), and the cost of the banquet is $80 per attendee ($30 for students).
