In Memoriam: Thomas P. Intrator

Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) fusion scientist Tom Intrator passed away June 3, 2014 at home after a long struggle with cancer.

Tom joined LANL in 1999 and was responsible for building up several significant experiments there, including the Relaxation Scaling Experiment (RSX) and the Magnetized Shock Experiment (MSX).

He received his Ph.D. in physics from the University of Colorado - Boulder in 1982, then joined the University of Wisconsin Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics Department, and continued his research there until 1999 when he joined LANL. In 2012, he was elected a Fellow of the American Physical Society. He had over 140 publications and 1500 citations.

His family requests those interested to make contributions in Tom's name to either The Southern Poverty Law Center or Doctors Without Borders.
