MIT's Miklos Porkolab Receives Alfven Prize from European Society

The Hannes Alfven Prize has been awarded annually since 2000 by the European Physical Society (EPS)for Outstanding Contributions to Plasma Physics. The 2013 award was presented to Miklos Porkolab, director of MIT's Plasma Science and Fusion Center during the July 1-5 annual EPS Conference on Plasma.

Miklos was cited for "his seminal contributions to the physics of plasma waves and his key role in the development of fusion energy." The announcement and a photo of the presentation can be found at http://eps2013.aalto.fi
