In Memoriam: Walter Bauer

Walter Bauer, a pioneer in the field of plasma-surface interactions and fusion "first wall engineering" past away April 4 at the age of 74. He worked at the Sandia/California site where he was instrumental in establishing a Tritium Research Facility. He helped found the International Conference on Plasma Surface Interactions and was an author of the 1978 DOE Roadmap for Plasma Materials Interactions.

He is survived by his wife Suzanne, son Greg and daughter Teresa and four grandchildren.
