"For professional and personal reasons I have decided to retire from NRL, effective 3 July 2008. At that time I will have spent 37 years, 3 months and 12 days at NRL all in the Plasma Physics Division; my entire Federal career. The last 26 years and 8 months have been spent as Superintendent of the Plasma Physics Division. I have been very proud to serve as Superintendent, and proud of all of the employees in the Division. The Division does great work, and is in good financial shape. Although I leave with mixed emotions, it is time to move on. I want to wish all of you well in your future endeavors.'
