Inertial Fusion Strategy Workshop Planned

December 27, 2006

A Strategic Planning Workshop on Inertial Fusion Energy will be held April 24-27, 2007 at the Marriott Hotel in San Ramon, CA. The workshop, hosted by the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, is open to all interested parties.

The purpose of the Workshop is to assess near-term and long-term research opportunities and to update plans as they pertain to inertial fusion energy and the associated high energy density physics and technologies.

A major focus of the Workshop will be to see how the high energy density physics (HEDP), inertial confinement fusion (ICF) and inertial fusion energy (IFE) communities can work together to develop a compelling U. S. IFE strategy.
