NSSA Graduate Fellowship Program
January 10, 2006
The Department of Energy National Nuclear Security Administration has
initiated a graduate fellowship program in Stewardship Science. Stewardship
science encompasses areas of fundamental science and technology relevant
to the stewardship of the country's nuclear stockpile. The objective of the
Stewardship Science Graduate Fellowship (SSGF) program is to encourage the
training of scientists by providing financial support to talented students
who enter a period of study and research in designated areas of stewardship
science accompanied by practical work experience at DOE research facilities.
Areas of interest for this competition include
- Properties of Materials under Extreme Conditions and Hydrodynamics
- High-Energy-Density Physics, including inertial confimement fusion
- Low-Energy Nuclear Science
The fellowship provides an annual stipend of $32,400, full
tuition, and support for spending time at a DOE facility.
Additional information on SSGF, including an on-line application, may
