Hazeltine Named AAAS Fellow

Richard Hazeltine. Universtiy of Texas, Austin, has been elected to the rank of Fellow by the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). He is being honored for "outstanding theoretical research and leadership in the field of controlled magnetic fusion."

Hazeltine, a Professor of Physics, is a former director of the Institute for Fusion Studies at UT-Austin, chair of the US Department of Energy Fusion Energy Sciences Advisory Committee (FESAC), chair of the American Physical Society Division of Plasma Physics and member of Fusion Power Associates Board of Directors.
