FESAC Planning Panel Hosts Open Meetings

November 5, 2002

The FESAC Fusion Development Path Panel (FPN02-65) has been charged with developing a plan for demonstrating fusion power within 35 years. A preliminary report from this panel will be reviewed by FESAC at its November 25-26 meeting in Gaithersburg, Maryland; the final Panel report is due in March.

There will be several opportunities to interact with the panel at the APS Divsion of Plasma Physics meeting (Rosen Centre Hotel, Orlando, Florida), as follows:

Monday, November 11, 6pm, Salon 1-2, Rosen Centre Hotel.
Tuesday, November 12, 5:15pm, Junior Ballroom, Rosen Centre Hotel
Friday morning, November 15, Salon 11, Rosen Centre Hotel

Time will be alloted for some brief remarks to the Panel at the Friday meeting. Please email Rob Goldston and John Delooper (rgoldston@pppl.gov, jdelooper@pppl.gov) to reserve a time slot for the Friday meeting.

The Panel is also planning an open community workshop, presently scheduled for January 13-14 in San Diego, to help prepare its final report.
