Rob Goldston, Director of the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory is the winner of the 2001 Federal Laboratory Consortium Laboratory Director of the Year Award. This award is given annually to directors who have made "maximum contributions to support technology transfer activities in their laboratories." The award was presetented May 8, 2002.

Dale Meade was named a Distinguished Alumni Fellow of the University of Wisconsin on May 10.
