Award Nominations Sought

Fusion Power Associates is soliciting nominations for the following 2002 awards.

EXCELLENCE IN FUSION ENGINEERING AWARD in memory of MIT Professor David J. Rose. The purpose of this award is to recognize fusion professionals in the early part of their careers. Nominees should be under 42 years of age. Nominees should have shown both outstanding technical accomplishments and potential to become exceptionally influential leaders in the fusion field. Nominating material should include a bio and letters of recommendation, including letters from outside the nominees home institution. Nominations are due by April 15.

LEADERSHIP AWARD. The purpose of this award is to recognize those individuals who have shown outstanding leadership qualities in accelerating the development of fusion. Name and home institution are the only nominating materials required. Nominations are due by May 31.

DISTINGUISHED CAREER AWARD. The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals, nearing or beyond retirement age, who have made outstanding lifelong contributions to fusion development. Name and home institution are the only nominating materials required. Nominations are due by May 31.

SPECIAL AWARDS. The purpose of these awards is to recognize outstanding contributions, not necessarily technical, that benefit fusion development. Nominations are due by May 31.
