Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory invites scientists worldwide to view and participate remotely over the Internet in the FY-2001 National Spherical Torus Experiment (NSTX) Research Forum, January 15-19, 2001
Goals, agenda, methods of participation, and the up-to-date abstract of research ideas, etc., of the Forum can be found in the above URL and its links.
Background information on the NSTX Research Program and Facility Operations can be found through links in http://www.pppl.gov.
On January 15 (Monday), very enticing new spherical torus experimental results obtained from NSTX during 2000 will be summarized, followed by parallel sessions for presenting and discussing research ideas for the experimental campaigns during 2001. (Mike Bell, mbell@pppl.gov; Ed Synakowski, esynakowski@pppl.gov)
On January 16-17, parallel sessions for presenting and discussing research ideas for the longer term (2002-2005) will be conducted. (Martin Peng,mpeng@pppl.gov)
The leaders of the sessions will also present summaries of the results of the discussion, and provide one of the most important inputs on NSTX research priorities and collaboration emphasis. They will also present how the NSTX Program will provide helpful information useful in preparation of collaboration proposals to DOE.
On January 18-19, a turbulence diagnostic workshop will afford presentations and discussion of the latest understanding of the subject and measurement ideas. These will be very valuable as input to plans of diagnostic efforts for 2002-2005. (EdSynakowski, esynakowski@pppl.gov)
Remote participation options include Internet viewing of presentations, speakerphone discussions, and in most cases, presentation via ShowStation or via proxy using submitted Internet files. All presentations and results of the Forum will be viewable through the Internet.
