IEEE/NPSS Fusion Technology Award nominations solicited

Nominations for the IEEE/NPSS Fusion Technology Award are due March 11th, 2024. An extension to March 15th is possible by contacting the awards committee chair (see below).

The 2024 winner will be presented their award at the IEEE 31st Symposium on Fusion Engineering (SOFE), which is to be held in the dynamic city of Boston, Massachusetts in June 2025. The Award consists of a $3,000 USD cash prize, a plaque, and an invited talk at SOFE 2025.

Equal consideration will be given to innovation in all fusion approaches and outstanding leadership. We look forward to nominations that show the diversity in the fusion community.

Any person, regardless of nationality or Society affiliation, is eligible for the award, with the exception that no current member of the IEEE/NPSS Standing Committee on Fusion Technology may be nominated. The nomination package should be sent to the Fusion Technology Committee Awards Chair, Trey Gebhart via email to drcpawley@ieee.org. It should consist of a letter describing the technical contributions on which the nomination is recommended and a current resume of the candidate. Other supporting endorsements are encouraged.

The nomination period is changed yearly; this year nominations are due by March 11th.
